Flexible PMIC is powered from USB source

The WM83xx family of PMICs (including WM8310, WM8311 and WM8312) are composed of four programmable dc/dc converters and 11 LDO regulators. They can be powered from a battery, wall adapter, or USB source. An on-chip regulator provides power for always-on PMIC functions such as a register map and the RTC.

The PMICs target consumer products including mobile phones, navigation devices, and media players. They enable numerous configuration options making it compatible with all application and mobile graphics processors, including all ARM-based processors, and configurable to address other architectures. A patent-pending EEPROM interface enables designers to override the one-time-programmable memory of the PMIC as many times as needed. (Ea/10,000: WM8310, $3.75; WM8311, $3.75; WM8312, $3.95 — available now.)
