Fluid sensors calibrate themselves

For detection of liquids in transparent tubing, OCB350 Series fluid sensors include automatic, self-calibration circuitry. The cal circuit lets designers narrow the expected output state so the sensors operate reliably and consistently at start-up and for the long term, maintaining calibration even if power is lost.

The sensor consists of an LED and phototransistor in an opaque plastic housing that accommodates clear tubing with 1.6-, 3.2-, or 4.8-mm ODs. The phototransistor has a VCE max of 24 or 30 V, and it and the LED each dissipate 100 mW. Operating range is –40° to 85°C. ($13.15 ea / 1,000 typ — available stock to 8 weeks ARO.)
