Four-port PoE PSE mgr suits SOHO apps

The PD69104A is an auto-mode four-port PoE power source equipment (PSE) manager that targets small and medium business and small office/home office (SOHO) PoE applications. The device needs no host processor or MCU and allows switch and router vendors to add PoE capabilities to their systems with minimal to no software. It has UART and I2 C host interfaces where system-wide power management is performed by a host processor.

The PoE power source equipment manager enables the detection of IEEE802.3at-2009 Type 1 and Type 2 powered devices. It supports two-event classification and up to 1,000 mA (50 W at 50 Vdc) per two-pair channel. The PSE features <1.2-W total system power dissipation in IEEE802.3at-mode, and <0.52-W total system power dissipation in IEEE802.3af mode. (Sampling now; production volumes available 2nd qtr.)
