Available from 21 to 39 circuits, an FPC connector is presented as the industry’s first 0.25-mm-pitch device, offering PCB space savings of up to 40% compared to similar 0.30-mm-pitch connectors. The SMT ZIF connector is also said to offer the industry’s smallest overall size in terms of height (1.00 mm) and depth (2.75 mm) of any FPC connector in the market today to suit applications in cell phones and other mobile devices.

Rated to 0.2 A and 50 V, the FPC connector features an insulation resistance of 50 MΩ, a dielectric strength of 150 Vac, and a contact resistance of 80 mΩ (odd terminals) or 50 mΩ (even terminals). The connector includes spring features on the terminals to ensure electrical contact even if the cable is pulled up or down after actuation.

The front-flip Easy-On actuator simplifies cable access and strong cable retention, while the actuator-to-housing friction lock provides additional cable retention and an audible click when mating. The housing design also features a flat, open area to accommodate pick-and-place equipment.
