Platform has up to forty-eight 6.5-Gbit/s GTX transceivers and 239,616 logic cells
Optimized for ultra-high-bandwidth applications in wired telecommunications systems, the Virtex-5 TXT FPGA targets 40- and 100-Gigabit Ethernet and SONET with up to forty-eight 6.5-Gbit/s GTX transceivers. The platform has two devices: the TX150T with 148,480 logic cells, 8,208 Kbits of block RAM, and 40 GTX channels, and the TX240T with 239,616 logic cells, 11,664 Kbits of RAM, and 48 GTX channels.
The devices have four 10/100/1000 Ethernet MAC blocks and 80 or 96 DSP blocks. They provide the 600-Gbit/s total bandwidth required to build, for example, 100 GbE to 120 Gig Interlaken or OC-768 to OTU-3 interconnect bridges.
The TX150T ICs come in FF1156 and FF1759 packages, and the TX240T device is available in the FF1759 package. (From $500 ea/5,000 samples available Q4.)
