Free IDTechEx webinar: Flexible displays and flexible sensors

Speaker: Dr Guillaume Chansin, Technology Analyst, IDTechEx

The advent of “wearable technology” has sparked a wave of interest for new components that are less rigid, less bulky and low-power. Already, the latest generation of smart watches are equipped with curved OLED displays that are thinner, lighter, and with better colors compared to backlit liquid crystal displays (LCD). But the next evolution will be plastic and flexible displays, with a market expected to be worth $16bn by 2020. Flexible e-paper displays that offer very low power consumptions are also available.

New types of flexible sensors are also emerging. In many cases, these sensors are printed electronic devices, although there are some flexible sensors that are not printed. Printed and flexible sensors have the potential to deliver new user experiences and more accurate diagnostics.

IDTechEx’s analysts provide market research and consulting to the leading technology companies. IDTechEx has been tracking progress in printed, organic and flexible electronics for more than 12 years, regularly publishing reports on display and sensor technologies.

This webinar will cover some of the following research from our reports “OLED Display Forecasts 2014-2024” and “Printed and Flexible Sensors 2014-2024”:

• How printed electronics enable the commercialization of flexible sensors
• Flexible sensors for user inputs
• Flexible sensors for fitness/healthcare
• Flexible e-paper displays
• OLED displays vs. LCD
• Challenges for flexible OLED
• Market forecast and outlook

We will be hosting the same webinar twice in one day, so please join whichever session is the most convenient for you.
