If you plan on getting your hands on a pair of Google Glass with the intent of wearing the device everywhere you go, you might want to reconsider your thoughts on wearing it while driving.
Because as Cecilia Abadie just found out, you could get a ticket.
The Full Swing Golf employee turned into an overnight web celebrity when she posted an image of a ticket she received for wearing the device while driving in San Diego, California.
Specifically, the cop charged Abadie with “Driving with Monitor visible to Driver.”
According to the California DMV website:
Do not drive a vehicle equipped with a video monitor, if the monitor is visible to the driver and displays anything other than vehicle information global mapping displays, external media player (mp3) or satellite radio information.
As per the comments section on Abadie’s Google+ page, the officer felt that Abadie’s wearing of the device blocked her view of the road. She argues that Glass was not turned on at the time of her being pulled over, so she intends to fight the charges in court.
