Fujitsu to Demonstrate Industry's First H.264 Format Video-Processing IC for HD Recording and Playback at CES 2007

Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) demonstrated Amedia Networks’ new gateways, which use Fujitsu’s MPEG-2 encoder and decoder technology with Amedia’s wireless chip transmitting bandwidth-intensive HD video wirelessly at distances up to 75 meters at the annual International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Industry’s first large-scale IC for real-time compression and decompression of high-definition TV-level video in H.264 format. The new MB86H50 encoder/decoder IC, designed with Fujitsu's audio and video processing technology for high-resolution recording, playback and transmission of HD video.

The Fujitsu MB86H50 is the first H.264 format video-processing IC to support the H.264 High Profile, Level 4.0 standard used in next-generation DVDs. It enables high-resolution recording, playback and transmission of high-definition video on audio-visual products such as portable A/V products, hard disk recorders, and home network equipment.
