Fully integrated 6-A, 24-V input sync buck regulator is industry’s smallest

Measuring only 5 x 6 mm, the 6-A, 24-V FAN2106 TinyBuck synchronous buck regulator claims to be the smallest of its kind—consuming approximately 50% less board space than discrete solutions, while offering greater design flexibility. The part also achieves up to 95% power efficiency by converting input of 3- through 24-V voltages to output voltages as low as 0.8 V.
Housed in an MLP package, the part meets or exceeds the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020C and is compliant with European Union regulations now in effect. Additional features include undervoltage, overvoltage, overcurrent, and thermal protection circuitry. The part also has a built-in power-saving mode. ($3.78 ea/1,000available now.)
