Functional safety package targets Cortex-A MCUs

The ARM Cortex-A Function Safety Documents Package helps with development and safety assessment of SoC designs to meet the goals of standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508. The package initially supports Cortex-A57, Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A53 processor licensees and will be available for all current and future A-series cores.

Automotive-grade SoCs will enable future ADAS. It is expected that cars will soon include 12 ultrasonic sensors, forward and 360° 4k cameras, forward and short range side-view radar, driver/passenger monitoring cameras, and CAN FD and GbE buses. Vehicle ADAS designs will need the large amount of processing power that the A series can provide. The function safety package includes a safety manual, FMEA report, and a development interface report. Available now.
