Fuses protect telecom voice and data lines
C515-type printed-circuit board fuses are designed primarily for
telecom-line-protection applications. Similar to 2AG-type fuses, they are
well-suited for use in ac and dc circuits that require time-lag
characteristics, especially in voice and data line “sneak current”
protection applications. When properly applied, the fuses enable telephone
gear to meet the requirements of UL1459, the customer premises telephone
equipment standard. The fuses are available packaged on tape and reel per
EIA STD 296-E or in bulk packages. ($0.18 ea/10,000–stock to 6 weeks.)
