The 88LX3142 baseband processor transceiver and 88LX2718 baseband analog front-end ICs combine to provide a G.hn home network solution that can use power line, twisted pair, or coax and provide up to a 1-Gbit/s data rate. The G.hn PHY uses OFDM modulation, supporting several bandplans.
The chipset is said to be optimized for HD IPTV, have support for bridging, smart repeating, full TCP/IP stack, and IP-Multicast, and also support embedded TR-069 and TR-111 remote management clients.
