The latest G-Series system-on-chip platform targets embedded control systems and is based on the AMD next-generation “Jaguar” CPU architecture. The ICs are standalone processors that do not need a chipset. The devices feature high-performance Radeon HD graphics and an average power of only 9 to 25 W. They operate over -40º to 85ºC, have 7 year availability and are said to have 113% higher performance than previous units, with a 33% smaller footprint.
The 1 to 2 GHz GX-420CA, GX-415GA quad-core and GX-217GA, GX-210HA dual-core devices have graphics processors running at 300 to 600 MHz and enterprise-class ECC memory support. The quad-core 1.6 GHz GX-416RA does not have a GPU. The devices support virtualization and trusted platform. Pricing ranges from $49 to $72 each.
