Gate drive optocoupler achieves 5.0-A output
Minimizes PCB space requirements, cuts component count
The ACNW3190 is offered as the industry’s first gate-drive optocoupler to achieve a peak output current of 5.0 A. Combining optocoupler technology and a 5.0-A power transistor into an 8-pin package, the optocoupler minimizes PCB space, offers component savings to lower design costs, and provides high CMR noise isolation in applications such as ac/dc motor drives, industrial inverters, and inverter controller home appliances.
The optocoupler features undervoltage lockout to prevent insufficient gate voltage from turning on the IGBT, which could lead to power loss. The device is also optimized for high-power applications with a common-mode-rejection rate of 15 kV/µs at 1,500 V. The part supports temperatures to 100C at the maximum output current.
