Gate drive optocoupler cuts switching losses

The ACPL-339J smart gate drive optocoupler device features a 1-A output current. The IC has dual outputs optimized for driving the high-side and low-side gates of a MOSFET buffer stage and active timing control circuitry preventing cross conduction and minimizing switching losses.

The chip can support MOSFET buffers of various current ratings allowing one part to serve in many motor control and power conversion applications. The SO-16-packaged IC operates from 15 to 30 V at –40º to 105ºC with 300-ns maximum propagation delay over temperature. It has 25-kV/μs minimum common-mode rejection (CMR) at VCM = 1,500 V.
