Gigabit Ethernet connector features field terminable I/O

TE Connectivity has announced that its CeeLok FAS-T connector has been designed in the Cloudberry MIL/AER CM/CR-6200 Series rugged Ethernet switch, router, and network time server from OnTime Networks.

The Cloudberry MIL/AER CM/CR-6200 — which combines the features of a Gigabit/10 Gigabit Ethernet switch, router, and network time server — can be deployed in a wide variety of applications in military vehicles, submarines, helicopters, and unmanned vehicles that need the ability to interconnect a large number of nodes.

Each CM/CR-6200 machine utilizes up to 12 CeeLok FAS-T connectors, providing either 12 10/100/1,000BASE-TX ports or eight 10/100/1,000BASE-TX ports and four 10-GbE ports along with router and IEEE 1588 PTP GMC capability.

The small form factor utilizes a panel cut-out of 0.698-in. diameter and maintains outstanding signal integrity due to its patented T-shaped pin pattern. And that facilitates noise cancellation and decoupling while minimizing crosstalk.

According to Steve McIntire, senior product manager at TE Connectivity, a small form factor allows these connectors to meet the diverse environmental demands for aerospace, defense, and marine applications.

TE’s CeeLok FAS-T connectors also feature an integral backshell with 360° shielding to reduce weight and space while improving the overall system performance. Moreover, they meet the high-speed signal requirements of modern aerospace and defense applications with field terminable I/O capability.
