Google goes to new heights with Street View of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa

Google Maps gives viewers the experience of what it’s like to stand atop the world’s tallest building

Google recently sent its Maps team to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, to record the company’s first-ever skyscraper on Street View — the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest manmade structure at 2,716.5 feet.

The recording session was also part of Street View’s first-ever collection in the Arab World. Images were collected over a three-day period, during which the Google team used the company’s Street View Trekker and Trolley, allowing for the capture of high-resolution, 360-degree panoramic imagery of several indoor and outdoor spots throughout the building:

Along with these jaw-dropping images, viewers can also see what it feels like to hang off one of the building’s maintenance units:

There’s also a view from the world’s highest occupied floor, located on the Burj Khalifa’s 163rd floor as well as the experience of travelling on the world’s fastest-moving elevators (22mph).

Here’s a quick re-cap of the Burj Khalifa project that the Google Street View team put together:
