Great Plains Industries® (GPI) announced the release of a FLOMEC QSI Interface Board. The QSI is a multi-functional interface unit designed to enhance product functionality and provide fully-featured communication protocols and process output signals for FLOMEC meters, as well as other flowmeter brands.

“GPI is very excited to announce the release of the QSI Electronics Interface Board. We have brought the same Better Performance, Higher Quality and Lower Cost mantra that our customers have come to enjoy with the advent of the FLOMEC QSI Interface Board” said Kevin Symens, Director of Sales at GPI.

The fully featured I/O Board ships with a customized operating system that allows for downloadable upgrades and new features developments. A unique feature of the QSI is that programming is simple and can be done by using the FLOMEC App via Bluetooth® wireless interface technology. NEMA 4X adapters and wall mount options provide compatibility for other FLOMEC meters. These would include the A1, TM, G2, G and OM series flowmeter products.

The QSI Board is available in three versions and compatible with the FLOMEC 09 electronics display. The multiple versions offer Bluetooth, Coil/Digital Pulse Input, Pulse Output (Scalable Flow or Energy), RS485 (MODBUS®) RTU or BACnet® MS/TP (pending), Temperature Inputs, Energy Measurement (BTU Calculator), Data Logger, and 4-20mA.

The FLOMEC® App with Bluetooth® wireless technology allows for complete control of the meter configuration from your mobile device through the programming interface for the QSI with Android devices. The App monitors all measured and calibrated data points, hosts a single page screen for easy set-up, and makes in-field firmware updates easy.

The QSI board and housing can be retrofitted in the field for use with most FLOMEC meters. The QSI board and housing are also compatible with many non-FLOMEC products. Any flowmeter that has a pick-up coil or a digital pulse operating from 0 to 1000 pulses per second can be connected.
