GPS LNA with integrated filter
is industry's first
Part improves GPS signal reception in 3.3 x 2.1 x 1.1-mm package
Ideal for use in handsets, in-vehicle navigation GPS receivers, and GPS antennas, the ALM-1412 GPS LNA is offered as the first of its kind to integrate an FBAR filter into a 3.3 x 2.1 x 1.1-mm MCOB packagereducing PCB space and component count for GPS applications at 1.575 GHz. During typical operating condition of 2.85 V and 8 mA, the part delivers 0.85-dB noise figure, 12.5-dB gain, 6.6 dBm IIP3, and 58 dBc Cell and PCS-band rejection.
The part will help improve about 1.5 dBm of sensitivity for S-GPS operation and about 2 dBm for non-GPS operation compared to just using the internal LNA supplied by a GPS chipset. In addition, a built-in shunt inductor included at RF input of the LNA enhances ESD protection. ($1.31 ea/20,000samples available now; prod qty end of March.)
