Green Watt Power has expanded its Marble Series of DC/DC converters with the introduction of the EVD300. These fully encapsulated, ruggedized 300-W DC/DC converters are designed for electric vehicles (EVs), marine and industrial applications that draw power from a bank of batteries.
The Marble Series DC/DC converters feature two DC input ranges (30-65 V and 50-130 V) with output voltages for 12-V and 24-V batteries, powering auxiliary EV functions including lights, instruments and accessories. Unlike most DC/DC converters addressing EVs, the Marble Series provides a constant current function to connect directly to a battery load, the company said.
Key features include full input-to-output isolation, enable/remote on/off, low battery conservation with a quiescent current draw of under 30 µA and IP67 ingress protection. The power devices also provide include input under voltage lockout, reverse polarity, overvoltage, short circuit and over-temperature protection. There are two available options to connect the DC/DC converter, either via flying leads or a standard Molex connector.
The EVD300 devices can be paralleled with up to 10 units with an output power of up to 3,000 W. They offer high efficiency of up to 93% and 1500-V input-to-output isolation. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C. They are designed to meet IEC, UL and CSA safety standards.
The converters are currently available from Green Watt Power for high-volume OEMs or through Digi-Key with lead times from stock to eight weeks. Higher power Marble Series variants, additional output voltages or other isolated and non-isolated single- and dual-output DC/DC converters from 48 W to 6500 W are available.
