Featuring a high-voltage capability up to 40 V, the ATA6836 half-bridge driver IC can be used in both passenger car applications (for example, flap control of air-conditioning systems) and in 24-V truck applications The part is manufactured using the company’s high-voltage 0.8-µm BCD-on-SOI technology and includes protection features such as overtemperature warning and shutdown, overload, overvoltage protection, and full protection against short circuits.

Each of the six high-side and low-side drivers can drive currents up to 650 mA via a microcontroller. The ATA6836 features 4-kV ESD protection, meets the strict automotive qualification demands (protection against conducted interference, EMC, and ESD protection), and can withstand transients as specified in ISO/TR 7637.
