Hall-effect sensor interface offers flexibility
The MAX9621 dual, two-wire, Hall-effect sensor interface enables the microprocessor to monitor the status of Hall-effect sensors either through the analog output by mirroring the sensor current for linear information or through the filtered digital output. A high-side current-sense architecture eliminates the need for a ground-return wire without introducing ground shift.
The part protects sensors from short-to-ground conditions and supply transients up to 60 V, The device consumes 1 µA in shutdown and offers a minimum of 50-µs blanking time following Hall-effect sensor power-up or restart. Housed in a 10-pin microMAX package, the MAX9621 operates from a 5.5 to 18-V supply and over –40° to 125°C. ($0.87 ea/1,000 — available now.)
