HART-compliant modem is small, low power

The DS8500 Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) compliant modem IC is said to enable the smallest solution for modulating and demodulating 1.1-kHz/2.2-kHz FSK signals. The device integrates an A/D converter and state machine to implement the digital filter required to eliminate noise from the HART signal.

HART-compliant modem is small, low power

The chip provides a low-harmonic-distortion sinusoidal output and half-duplex 1200 bits/s FSK modulation and demodulation. It takes just 285 µA, and needs only a simple, single-pole, low-pass/high-pass RC filter external circuit. The 5 x 5-mm 20-pin TQFN-packaged IC operates from 2.7 to 3.6 V over the –40° to 85°C temperature range. (From $4.10 ea/1,000 — samples available now.)
