Harwin has extended its high-reliability connector portfolio with the launch of mixed-layout versions of the company’s Gecko-SL series. The new Gecko-M products complement the data contacts with two or four power contacts (in power/data configurations of either 1+8+1 or 2+8+2). This enables significant space and weight reductions in electronic hardware. The respective power and data current ratings are 10 A and 2.8 A max per contact.
By offering both data and power in a single compact and lightweight solution, Gecko-MT connectors are optimized for avionics, defense, space, and motorsport. Key applications include robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), battery management, and satellites.
The first products released in the new family include female and male cable connectors, plus female vertical and male right-angle PCB connector options. They are manufactured with stainless steel screw-lok fixings (in both conventional and reversed formats) for interconnect integrity even in challenging environments.
Other features include 20 G vibration and 100 G shock resilience and an operating temperature range of -65°C to 150°C. Low outgassing properties are also exhibited.
The connectors are available from stock and through Harwin’s distribution network. Cable assemblies can be requested through Harwin’s in-house operations.
