The CX20952 HD Audio CODEC IC enables high quality audio with low power consumption and has a fully-integrated class-D amplifier capable of up to 2.8 W per channel. The chip monitors power delivered to speakers ensuring availability of maximum sound pressure level without damage to components.
The IC also has two cap-free headphone amplifiers and it is designed for applications that do not require high output power – such as notebooks and tablet PCs. It configures itself to support CTIA (Apple) or OMTP (Nokia) style headsets The chip has up to four digital microphone inputs and an I2 C port for real-time software control.
