Hermetic connectors keep fiber optics intact
Recently added to the Souriau ELIO 38999 line, the hermetic fiber-optic bulkhead feedthrough connector uses Kryoflex polycrystalline ceramic-to-metal sealing technology, allowing fiber optics to remain intact at leak rates of ≤ 1 x 10-9 cc/s He at one atmospheric differential pressure. The connector features a ≤0.3-dB insertion loss per interface, a return loss of ≤20 dB per interface and an operating temperature range of –55° to 125°C.
Compatible with aluminium, titanium, and stainless steel and designed to mate with aluminium or composite ELIO contacts, the connector is available in jam nut or laser-weldable configurations and can be manufactured to support multimode 50-, 62.5/125-, or 100/140-µm fiber types (PC-shaped ferrule).
