High-brightness LEDs enable cost-effective low-power signage

Through-hole devices deliver up to 12,000 mcd at 20 mA

Providing a bright, cost-effective solid-state lighting solution for portable and solar-powered outdoor electronic signs and signal applications, the HLMP-Exxx Series 5-mm LEDs are available in versions delivering 590-nm amber and 615- or 626-nm red-orange at a luminous intensity as high as 12,000 mcd with a drive current of 20 mA. The T1-3/4-sized AlInGaP devices come with clear non-diffused lenses with viewing angles of 15°, 23°, or 30°.

Available with or without a lead standoff, the LEDs include features such as a forward voltage from 1.8 to 2.4 V, a maximum junction temperature of 130°C, and an operating temperature of -40° to 100°C. (From $0.13 ea/10,000-available now.)
