High-current WLED driver offers DAM

Targeting billboard, marquee, instrument and other large, general-purpose LED displays, the 6-channel MIC4811/MIC4812 constant-current sink LED drivers can maintain constant current for up to six WLEDs while featuring a typical dropout of 100 mV at 50 mA (‘11) and 190 mV at 100 mA (‘12). Both feature Dynamic Average Matching (DAM) which is specifically designed to provide optimum matching across all WLEDs.

Features include an input voltage range from 3.0 to 5.5 V and a current accuracy of better than ±1% typical. The brightness is controlled through an ultrafast PWM (200 to 500-kHz) interface operating down to less than 1% duty cycle. The MIC4811/MIC4812 are available in an 10-pin MSOP package and a 10-pin MSOP exposed pad package respectively, with a junction temperature range of –40° to 125°C. (ea/1,000, MIC4811, from $0.65; MIC4812, $0.68 — samples now.)
