High resolution, portable light steering reference design using DLP technology

This reference design, featuring the DLP® 0.45” WXGA chipset and implemented in the DLP® LightCrafter™ 4500 evaluation module (EVM), enables flexible control of high resolution, accurate patterns for industrial, medical, and scientific applications. With a free USB-based GUI and API, developers can easily integrate TI’s innovative digital micromirror device (DMD) technology with cameras, sensors, motors, and other peripherals to create highly differentiated 3D machine vision systems, 3D printers, and augmented reality displays.

  • Accurate control of 1M+ digital micromirrors at pattern rates up to 4225 Hz
  • Multiple communication interfaces including USB, mini-HDMI, I2C, and FPD Link
  • Two configurable I/O triggers with programmable polarity and rising & falling edge delay control for integrated a wide range of peripherals
  • Onboard 32MB flash memory allows storage of up to 64 24-bit patterns
  • LED driver with 0-5A output synchronizes up to 3 LEDs with displayed patterns
  • Integrated yet flexible module design enables faster development cycles where high brightness and resolution are critical
