High speed PCB tool combines EM solvers, simulators

The HyperLynx design tool for high-speed circuit board layout is a new generation that integrates signal and power integrity analysis, 3D-electromagnetic solving, and fast rule checking into a unified environment. The tool works with layouts up to 100 Gbit/s and beyond. By performing simulation early in the design process the package is able to more easily achieve ‘first time right’ products.

The tool has 2D/3D signal and power integrity analysis and now combines advanced electromagnetic solvers, a super-fast geometry extraction engine, and advanced materials modeling (for wideband dielectrics, copper roughness, etc.). It also a very fast DC/IR-drop simulator and can efficiently handle very large layouts, including extra-deep stack-ups, huge net counts, and entire multi-board systems. HyperLynx has configurations starting at $5,000.
