The EREBUS technology implements buck (step/down) dc/dc converters operating from -55° to 225°C. It can step input voltages from 12 to 50 V down to an output voltage adjustable from 10% to 90% of the input.
The EREBUS technology includes two reference designs and a demonstration board. The buck converters demonstrate 85% efficiency above 200°C, and when configured as a synchronous dc/dc converter, it operates in continuous-current mode at a constant frequency. It uses a soft-start capability to enable a smooth startup and provides a dc line regulation better than ±1.5 mV/V. The demonstration board, adjusted to a 5-V output, is available in two versions, for a maximum input voltage of 40 or 50 V, and can deliver up to 70 W at 225°C.
