The XRS10L620 SATA/IDE host controller has two SATA channels, a one-channel IDE, and a PCI-X-compliant interface. It can seamlessly interoperate with all SATA port multipliers targeting a variety of data storage environments.
The chip’s IDE channel supports the maximum transfer rate of 133 Mbytes/s. The controller supports simultaneous data transfer through two hot-plug/unplug SATA ports and an IDE port to a PCI-X bus. The chip can connect up to four systems at the same time, two SATA devices, and two IDE/ATAPI devices. It comes in a 128-pin LQFP package. ($5.80 ea/1,000 — samples available now.)
