Google Glass enthusiasts can set up a Bitcoin wallet payment system through an app called Eaze. With the app, users wear their wallets. They notify the Glass they’re ready to use the app with a voice command, the Glass will scan a QR code, and the payment will be completed when users nod their heads twice. Eaze supports platforms like Blockchain and Coinbase when users are connecting their wallets to the app.
Of course this system calls on retailers to readily accept this Bitcoin method of payment. When you’re at the checkout and ready to get rung up, the cashier will generate a QR barcode. The retailers don’t necessarily need to endorse Eaze, since the app is just available to make financial transactions possible with the Glass.
The company has future plans to sync this system with Paypal as well as making this tech available internationally for various currencies.
Sure, this seems uber cool and an added incentive to purchase Google Glass. But now robbers could now greatly target Google Glass wearers with ease because they could essentially be wearing their wallets on their faces. To counter this potential problem, Eaze is working on setting a spending limit through the app that cannot be changed unless an exact PIN number is known. Eaze will eventually migrate its technology to other portable and wearable gadgets like smartwatches.
There are other apps for Google Glass that enable methods for making virtual payments including Google Wallet to Glass, Pay with Wallaby, and Glass Wallet. Would you use this payment system?
