Human-eye light sensor has digital interface
Approximating the human eye’s spectral response, the APDS-9300 miniature ambient light sensor incorporates a digital I2 C interface with programmable interrupt function to simplify design of consumer, industrial, and automotive applications needing precise illuminance measurement.
The RoHS-compliant sensor works from a 2.5-V source, typically consuming 0.6 mW in active mode, and outputs a 16-bit 1.8-V-level digital signal at 400 kHz in I2 C fast-mode. Housed in a 0.55 x 2.60 x 2.20-mm package, the device has programmable analog gain and integration time as well as 50/60-Hz lighting ripple rejection. (From $1.20 ea / 2,500 — available now.)
