Hybrid device drives IGBT modules

The IGD1205W is a hybrid integrated circuit specifically designed to drive n-channel IGBT modules. It provides the I/O isolation, speed, drive voltage stability and fault protection required to control most MOS-gated power devices.

The IGBT driver converts TTL compatible input signals into an isolated +15V/−8V gate drive with a peak drive current of 5 A. It features an internal, optocoupler that provides 3.750−Vac control signal isolation, with a CMR ratio of 30 kV/µs for switching at high speed. A built-in desaturation detector provides short circuit protection. A fault signal is generated if the detector is activated. A 12− or 15−Vdc connection is used to power the hybrid IC driver. An internal, dual output dc/dc converter provides isolated gate drive power. The driver is packaged in a compact single -in-line (SIP) package and operates from −40° to +70°C. It targets 600−, 1,200−, and 1,700−V IGBTs for use in high-frequency welding, solar converters, UPSs, and automotive or appliance motor drives. ($6.90 ea/100 — available now.)
