The 7I66 remote isolated field I/O card features fast real time operation for PC based control systems and communicates with the host with a isolated RS-422 link using a CAT5 cable. The -24 model has 24 outputs and no inputs. The 7I66-8 has 8 outputs and 16 inputs.
Outputs are 2.5-A sourcing drivers with 8 to 32-Vdc field power and local clamps for inductive loads. The cards inputs are smart with variable threshold sensing. Default input threshold is 50% of field voltage with 20% hysteresis and individually programmable from 0 to 36-V threshold. (7I66-8 $57; 7166-24 $86 ea/100 — available now.)
