I/O sub-system hooks sensors to Ethernet

The Nano Interface Unit (NIU1) connects sensor data and communication interfaces to an 1000BaseT Ethernet network for use in military and aerospace embedded applications. The unit has sixteen 0 to 60 V discrete I/O, sixteen programmable TTL or differential I/O, a ten-channel 16-bit A/D or D/A converter, a three channel 16-bit digital to synchro/resolver and synchro/resolver to digital converter, a 16-bit digital to LVDT and LVDT to digital converter, a 16-bit RTD input, and a four-channel A-Quad-B encoder/counter.

The 1.5 x 1.6 x 6.5 inch unit has dual MIL-STD-1553 ports, four CANBus channels, four RS232/422/423/485 channels, and six ARINC 429/575 channels. It takes 28 V in at 5 .1 W and has dual Ethernet 802.3at/802.3af POE ports. (From $2,568 – 10 weeks ARO.)
