I/Q modulator operates over 100 MHz to 1 GHz

The CMX993 RF quadrature modulator offers a 100-MHz to 1-GHz operation. Features include gain control, uncommitted differential amplifiers, wideband inputs that can be driven single-ended or differentially, and a C-Bus digital control interface (SPI-compatible interface). Targeted to meet the challenging requirements of wireless data and two-way radio systems, the product’s I/Q architecture supports a wide range of modulation types.

The “LO” frequency is divided by either 2 or 4, with the mixers forming an I/Q vector modulator with programmable gain stages, offering 30 dB of gain control in 2.5-dB steps. Operating voltage is 3.3 V (1.8 V I/O), and housing is in a 48-pin VQFN package. (Call company for pricing — available now.)
