i960 CF emulator cuts PROM burning
The Express III emulation tool supports the i960 CF processor, including
the processor's on-chip data cache. The tool can set up the memory region
tables and processor-control-block information, eliminating the need for
repeated PROM burning during development. This can be done either by
setting up an environment file for the target or by editing the i960
registers with SDBUG, the symbolic debugger that comes with the system.
The emulator runs at up to 40 MHz with either i960 CA or CF targets. It
can be hosted on AT or PS/2 computers and Sun 3, Sun 4, and IBM RS-6000
workstations. By emulating internal processes, Express III can reconstruct
the contents of internal cache in the 32-Kbyte-deep trace buffer. (From
