The RF430CL330H dynamic near field communications transponder (tag) IC orchestrates the setup of wireless links. It combines a wireless NFC interface and a SPI/I2 C interface to connect to a host. The chip enables uncomplicated and inexpensive wireless set up which allows NFC connection handover for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or and Wi-Fi as an easy and intuitive pairing or authentication process with only a tap.
The IC puts an NDEF message in SRAM readable from the SPI/I2 C ports or wirelessly via the ISO14443B-compliant RF interface that supports up to 848 Kbits/s. The device operates over -40° to 100°C with a 4 µA standby current and costs $0.85 ea/1,000. An evaluation kit is available for $54.
