IC handles quadrature encoder interface

The LS7366R quadrature clock decoding and counting IC operates directly from incremental encoders. It provides position and displacement tracking at up to 40 x 106 /s line rate from the encoder and a count limit of 232.

The programmable chip can be set for quadrature or nonquadrature inputs, cycle resolution of x1, x2, or x4, and modulo-n counting. Its SPI interface greatly reduces required wiring, and it is offered in 14-pin DIP, SOIC, and TSSOP packages. ($1.60 ea/1,000 available now.)
