IC offers scalable power for POL converter

The XPhase IR3513 control IC for POL converter designs provides control for a scalable number of phases and has current sense and sharing, an internal gate driver, and a PWM to provide a stand-alone single-phase regulator or an interface with additional phase ICs. It enables the use of a single IC per phase compared to alternative approaches that require a control IC plus 1 to X driver ICs.

The new device features 0.8 to 5.1V output voltage with 0.5% system set point accuracy and programmable 250 kHz to 9 MHz daisy-chain digital phase timing to provide a per-phase switching frequency of 250 to 1.5 MHz with no external components. ($2.25 ea/10,000 available now.)
