ICs automatically discharge X capacitors

CAPZero is a family of two-terminal, automatic Class X capacitor discharge ICs that eliminate power losses. When the ac voltage is disconnected, they automatically discharge the X capacitor by closing the circuit through the bleed resistors and directing the energy away from the exposed ac plug. The devices act as smart high-voltage switches when placed in series with discharge resistors.

The capacitor discharge ICs eliminate power loss and require little change to system or PCB layout. They are suitable for all ac/dc converters with X capacitors that require very low standby power, and are offered with 825- or 1,000-V MOSFETs.
