ICs for microprocessor power supplies
The MAX690A/MAX692A microprocessor supervisory circuits provide four
functions: a reset output during power-up, power-down, and brownout
conditions; battery-backup switching; a programmable watchdog timer; and a
1.25-V threshold detector for power-fail warning or low-battery detection.
The MAX690A generates a reset pulse when the supply voltage drops below
4.65 V; the MAX692A generates a reset below 4.40 V. The devices use a
maximum of 350 microamps of supply current and are available in 8-pin
plastic DIPs, CerDIPs, and SO packages. (From $3.26 ea/1,000–available
now.) Maxim Integrated Products Sunnyvale, CA Information 408-737-7600,
