IDTechEx’s Printed Electronics Europe 2013 Grows by Over 20%

April 26, 2013 —Attendance at last week's Printed Electronics Europe 2013 event grew by over 20%. The highly successful conference and tradeshow, hosted by IDTechEx, covered the broad range of emerging materials and devices, including OLEDs, touch surfaces, TFTs, stretchable and textile electronics, energy generation and much more. Presentations, exhibitors and attendees covered the full supply chain from materials to their final application in verticals such as the media, consumer electronics, the internet of things and even vehicles.

Laurent Jamet, Co-founder and Director of Business Development at ISORG, an exhibitor at the event, reported, “We were delighted to join Printed Electronics Europe 2013. As a start-up company, we have been participating at IDTechEx exhibitions as a speaker and exhibitor since the creation of company. These events gave us unique opportunities to give worldwide visibility for our disruptive technology and meet integrators and leading OEM companies. We very much like the focus of IDTechEx on applications and markets. This is the way for the Printed Electronics industry to move from R&D to volume business and convince investors and OEM companies to adopt these new and exciting technologies”.

“Cambridge Graphene Platform exhibited at this event and I am so busy following up leads that I don't have time to say all the positive things I wish to say in this quote! This is by far the best commercial event available.” J. Patrick Frantz, Cambridge Graphene Platform.

“We made many new contacts and I was surprised how many more I made by exhibiting rather than just attending this event as we have done previously. We made about six times as many contacts. The quality of contacts was higher than at many other shows we have exhibited at in Europe.” RK Siebdrucktechnnik GmbH.

“Despite this event being the fourth consecutive year that Intrinsiq Materials has exhibited with IDTechEx at PE Europe, we still picked up significant new interest in our copper ink products and technology, as well as catching up with existing clients and friends. Interest in PE generally, and particularly conductive inks, continues to grow” Intrinsiq Materials

This year the tradeshow featured “Manufacturing Street” – showcasing hands on examples of printing electronics, in addition to “Demonstration Street” – the world's largest collection of products using printed, flexible and organic electronics.

Amongst some of the highlights at the event, which was attended by about 1,600 people, conference attendees heard from end users discussing their needs and experiences with the technology, including Microsoft Research, Abbott Diagnostics, Boeing, JCDecaux, Ravensburger, Stora Enso and many others. Feedback from attendees included

“A very professional and high value conference. I travel to many conferences around the world and in terms of information quality, yours was one of the best in many years.” Simon Moores of Industrial Minerals Magazine

“Great variety of content.” Dr Michael Cochran, Project Leader at Crown Technology

“A very nice event and rich in networking opportunities” Dr Marie-Beatrice Madec, Solvay Interox

“Excellent.” Barry Ward of Weston Aerospace

Raghu Das, CEO of IDTechEx, reports, “We are delighted by the strong growth of this event. Feedback from attendees and exhibitors was excellent – many met direct customers in addition to users at the end of the supply chain to learn of their needs and experiences.”
