IGBT and soft-recovery diode in one package
A family of co-packaged products combine an IGBT and an ultra-fast,
ultra-soft recovery anti-parallel diode in a single TO-220 or TO-247
package. Called the Co-Pack, these 600- and 1,200-V products are priced
below the manufacturer's cost of a pair of separate IGBT and fast-recovery
epitaxial diodes. Other advantages include improved thermal management,
space saving, and ease of design in board layout. The TO-247 package,
designated the IRGPC50FD2, has a rating of 39 A at 100 degreesC. The
TO-220 package, designated the IRGBC30FD2, has a 17-A rating. Continuous
100 degreesC current ratings from 9 to 17 A are offered in six TO-220
packages, while ratings of 12 to 39 A are available in six TO-247
