IGBT module targets solar inverters

The MiniSKiiP IGBT power semiconductor module is optimized for three-level solar inverters and UPS systems. It has a rated current of 4.9 A/cm2 and one phase leg per module that enables the development of compact inverters with output power up to 85 kVA. The rated current per unit of area is up to twice that of other three-level modules.

The IGBT module needs no solid busbars between the three phases/modules. The reverse voltage of the devices is 650 V enabling 900-V dc-link voltages for 480-V three-phase power applications. Each module has a three-level phase leg with sufficient space for ten power semiconductors each. Thermal and electrical connection between the module and the heat sink and the driver board is established with a single screw or two screws for rated module currents of up to 150 or 200 A, respectively.
