Image of the Day: Fly your phone ‘Back to the Future’ with a DeLorean iPhone case

If the fictional Marty McFly from the iconic film, Back to the Future had an iPhone 6, chances are he’d deck it out in this flashy DeLorean case. Not only is this piece of gadgetry eye-catching, it also comes equipped with its own special tricks.

Created by the Japanese toy company, Bandai, the replica of the futuristic flying car stays true to its form with neon blue lights. When the user receives a call, the DeLorean’s LED headlights flash, prompting them to pick up and speak into the undercarriage of the car. A slot over the car's hood pulls out to reveal the phone’s rear-facing camera, and its side panels lift up for access to the volume controls and the sleep/wake switch.

Although this case adds size to the already large iPhone 6, it’s unlikely that true Back to the Future fans will mind, because after all, this is the kind of thing meant to be shown off and not tucked away in a pocket or purse.  And quite coincidentally, the release of this iPhone case is timely, since it’s expected to go on sale this summer for about $50, and in Back to the Future Part II , McFly travels all the way ahead of time to October 21, 2015.

So that gives you enough time to order your own flying time machine to be prepared for the date fans are waiting for.
