The photo above is an original Apple 1 computer from 1976. The machine was built by the company’s founders, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, and it is still functional. It is believed to be one of only six remaining today.
The machine, along with an original monitor, tape-player, and keyboard, was sold at an auction in Germany for $671,400 USD, a sizeable increase over the Apple 1 computer that sold last year for $640,000, and a sharp rise over the Apple 1 computer that sold for $374,500 in June 2012.
In terms of wow-factorability, the computer’s motherboard features Mr. Wozniak’s John Hancock on it, and the documentation for all of the included components features the signature of a one Mr. Steve Jobs.
