Image of the Day: What’s it like inside a NASA wind tunnel?

We’re finally at NASA! Electronic Products was invited to the NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California.

Take a close up look at this massive wind tunnel from our tour:

These tube-shaped facilities allow engineers to move air over a vehicle as if it were flying in order to learn more about how an aircraft will fly. NASA uses wind tunnels to test scale models of aircraft, spacecraft, and rockets. Some wind tunnels are big enough to hold full-size versions of vehicles. By moving air around an object, the wind tunnel simulates the conditions of the object in flight.
